Strategic Fueling Point in the Eastern Pacific

Located in one of the most remote regions of the Eastern Pacific, the Galápagos Islands represent a critical fueling point for yachts operating across the Pacific corridor.

The only official fueling station in the Galápagos Islands is located in Aeolian Bay, Baltra Island, and is operated by PETROECUADOR, the Ecuadorian state-owned fuel company.

The station supplies a large volume of fuel. However, only one type of diesel product is available in the Galápagos, compliant with established quality standards.

Required Authorizations

To obtain fuel in the Galápagos, Superyacht Galapagos must generate a vessel registration known as the “Fuel Code Authorization” within the PETROECUADOR system.

  • The fuel code authorization process may take up to three business days to be completed.
  • This authorization is mandatory before any fuel operation can be scheduled.

Pricing & Deliveries

  • Fuel prices are set monthly and remain valid until the last day of the same month.
  • Fuel deliveries can be scheduled on any day within the month.
  • The requested quantity must be as accurate as possible, as:
    • Additional fuel cannot be purchased once the operation is completed.
    • Unused fuel cannot be returned or stored.

We coordinate fuel orders with most major international yacht fuel brokers.
