Superyacht Galapagos began as Sail’n Galápagos, founded with a deep respect for the islands and the sea. Today, operating as Superyacht Galapagos, we are proud to be the first yacht agency and superyacht service provider established in the archipelago.

Our roots in the Galápagos date back to 1985, when Ricardo arrived in the islands and began building the local relationships and operational knowledge that continue to define our work today. Together with Yvonne, he has always worked with one clear priority: the long-term protection of the archipelago.

Before 1997, foreign yachts visiting the Galápagos did so under informal conditions. There was no established legal framework and limited operational support for vessels wishing to explore the islands by sea. That changed when we helped pioneer the first structured and responsible system for private yachts and superyachts — a model later formalized in the 1998 Galápagos Law.

The process of building this foundation was complex. Through close collaboration with local authorities and conservation leaders, we contributed to the development of the permitting, inspection, itinerary and operational systems that continue to govern yacht activity in the islands today.

More than two decades later, we remain at the forefront. As the original agency born in the Galápagos, we provide unmatched local knowledge, personalized service and a long-standing commitment to responsible operations.
