FUELING STATION IN THE GALÁPAGOS ISLANDS

Fueling Station in the Galapagos Islands
The only fueling station in the Galapagos Islands is located in Aeolian Bay, on Baltra Island. This station is operated by PETROECUADOR, an Ecuadorian state-owned company. The station offers a large amount of fuel; however, only one type of diesel product is available in the Galapagos, which meets quality standards.
Authorizations:
Superyacht Galapagos must create a yacht registration called “Fuel Code Authorization” within the state fuel company system to authorize the yacht to obtain fuel at the Baltra station.
The fuel code authorization may take up to three business days to be issued.
Price and Deliveries
- A new fuel price is set monthly, valid until the last day of the same month.
- Fuel deliveries can be made any day during the month.
- An almost exact amount of fuel must be requested, as it is not possible to purchase additional fuel later if needed, nor to leave unused fuel behind.
- We work with most yacht fuel brokers for arranging possible fuel orders.
Fuel Dock:
The dock is 80 meters long (with a depth of 10 meters at high tide) and has two fueling pipes:
- One pipe is 35 meters long and delivers fuel at a rate of 100 to 250 liters per minute.
- The second pipe is 25 meters long and delivers fuel at a rate of 250 to 450 liters per minute. (2-inch cam-locks are available.)
Private fuel barges are also available.
