PORTS

Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz is located in the center of the Galapagos archipelago. Its main town, Puerto Ayora, is also the principal town of the entire archipelago, with the largest population. Because of this, it offers the widest variety of shops, services, and provisioning options. Its strategic location also makes it the hub for most diving and land tours.
Santa Cruz does not have its own airport; instead, travelers arrive via Baltra Island, located just north of Santa Cruz.

San Cristóbal

San Cristóbal lies in the eastern part of the archipelago, with Puerto Baquerizo Moreno as its main port. Every yacht arriving with an Autógrafo must first check in at this port, as it is the capital of the province. The island is known for having the best surf spots in the Galapagos. San Cristóbal has an airport with direct flights from Guayaquil and Quito.

Baltra Island

Baltra is home to the only fueling station in the Galapagos. Its airport is the primary point of entry for visitors heading to Santa Cruz, as the ferry terminal is just five minutes from the airport. Baltra is frequently used by yacht owners and guests arriving from mainland Ecuador.

Isabela Island

Isabela is the largest island in the Galapagos, yet its main town is home to only around 3,000 inhabitants. Due to its small population, the town has limited infrastructure—there are no ATMs, and provisioning options are minimal. However, the island boasts breathtaking natural beauty and unique landscapes. A small airport offers inter-island flights via light aircraft.
